Girls’ Generation to Be the First Celebrities on Postage Stamps in Korea

Stamps with Girls’ Generation as the models, “Girls’ Generation My Own Stamps” will go on sale at the beginning of August.

Korea Post revealed, “‘Girls’ Generation My Own Stamps’ is the first celebrity stamp contracted by Korea Post and was specially created with the global K-Pop fever’s leader that has been active all around the world, Girls’ Generation.”

The stamps will be presented as a celebratory set for Girls’ Generation’s fifth anniversary. Nine stamps will be produced, carrying members’ photos from their third official album, “The Boys”, along with their autographs, and five stamps with jacket photos from their “Gee” and “Oh!” albums will also be produced. The total of fourteen stamps are expected to garner much attention from fans.

The price of the stamps will be 20,000 won and will be available for purchase at the Seoul Central Post Office, as well as 50 other post offices in the country. The stamps will be available to view at the “Korea Philatelic Exhibition” at Coex in Samsung-dong from August 9th through the 13th.

Kim Taewan from Korea Post also stated, “The Girls’ Generation stamps will contribute greatly to the stamp culture and help the Hallyu movement grow.”

SNSD beats Popular Group KAT-TUN and tops Oricon

After initially placing second, SNSD has come back swinging to take the top spot on the Oricon chart.

According to the latest figures released by Japan’s Oricon, SNSD’s recent single Paparazzi has maintained solid sales figures and come out on top to best popular male group Kat-Tun for the top spot on the Oricon daily chart.

SNSD also placed first on the Japanese iTunes single chart for July 2.

Paparazzi was released on June 27 and sold 42,525 copies on its first day.

Sunny has never been in a Relationship?

Girl's Generation member Sunny revealed that she has gone on a few dates, but has never been in a relationship with anyone.

The confession was made on the June 30th broadcast of KBS' "Invincible Youth 2".

Sunny was envious of fellow guest Baek Ji Young who has made her relationship with actor Jung Suk Won public. "I've never been in a relationship before, but I have been on a date. The most memorable date was when I was in middle school," she stated.

SISTAR member Bora, another guest on the show, was also envious of Baek Ji Young's relationship, asking her to hook her up with a date. "I'll need to ask your CEO first. However, I do think you guys should be allowed to date," Baek Ji Yound responded.
